The film made me nuts. Another one of those orgasmic treats. It is about an uneventful chapter in the life of two girls, Otilia and Gabriela under the backdrop of late 1980’s communist Romania. The film starts with the information of Gabriela being pregnant and how Otilia helps her to pursue illegal abortion.
They finally get a doctor but little did they know that he wanted to have sex with both of them in return. There is one scene in the film where Găbiţa legs spread on the bed form the frame while Otilia is sitting numb after the doctor leaves, trying to compose herself – trying to come in terms with what just happened with her. It was so powerful.

Good review Shaj. It was a pretty hard flick to get through, especially since t5he style was so up-in-your-face just about every step of the way. Thankfully though, that’s where the story prevailed and gave us something to think about and chew away at.
